Abstract

The project aims to analyze the social reproduction among the elite residing in Castro, a county situated in the state of Paraná (erstwhile captaincy of São Paulo) and an important livestock farming region in São Paulo, from the turn of the 18th to 19th century. The clipping is characterized by the socioeconomics' rising after the restoration of the captaincy of São Paulo, the southern backlands conquest and the reiteration of inequalities, in which an excluding hierarchy was reproduced. As a hypothesis, it is considered that from a set of relations, the Ancien Régime structure provided a concentration of resources in certain families, constituting them elites. Therefore, it will be performed a cross-reference of council minutes, notarial minutes, genealogies, nominative lists, and parish baptism records, in order to reconstitute such relations. Through the social network analysis, their interdependencies will be sought, towards the uncertainties of colonial society. (AU)
