Abstract

The nursing team is directly related to the process of antimicrobial administration. Considering the importance of timely administration (right dose, route and time), we propose to identify the barriers that interfere with the process of timely administration of antimicrobials in a hospital in the interior of São Paulo. This is an observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach. The research will be developed at HU-UFSCar, located in the city of São Carlos, in the sectors of medical clinic and pediatrics. Data will be collected by means of observation of the administration of antimicrobials performed by the nursing team, in search of possible barriers to the timely administration of the medication, following a script developed by the authors. Data collection will only be initiated after approval of the project by the UFSCar's Research Ethics Committee and signature of the informed consent form by the professionals who agree to participate in the study.
