Abstract

This study will deal with the trajectory of the architect Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992) and the teaching profession during the period from 1947, when the Museu de Arte de São Paulo was founded, until 1992, the year of her death. The general objective of this research project is to understand the role and profile of the architect as a promoter of education for culture. As specific objectives, we intend to investigate and analyze the role of Lina Bo Bardi as a professor of Architecture in Brazil at FAU USP and the University of Bahia; to map Lina's characteristics as a teacher, observing continuities and ruptures in her trajectory; to illuminate the architect's written didactic production regarding the Institute of Contemporary Art, the School of Architecture and Urbanism at USP, University of Bahia, Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, Parque Lage, among others and, finally, to frame this feature of Lina's profile in the history of art and architecture teaching in Brazil and the role of women in this process. Through the method of historical research, crossing primary and secondary sources and interviews conducted, we intend, in this master's research, to present the vision of Lina as a complex figure, who acted in the architectural making, in the teaching of Architecture and in the promotion of education for culture in different instances.
