Abstract

This request for a BEPE - Bolsa Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior is part of the doctoral research entitled Popular Education and the spoliation of memory: Brazil and Chile in the neoliberal mirror, as already foreseen in its original project. The proposal seeks to carry out an internship at the Universidad de Playa Ancha (UPLA), in Valparaíso, Chile, under the supervision of Professor PhD Jorge Fabian Cabaluz Ducasse, coordinator of the Grupo de Investigación de Pedagogías Latinoamericanas: educación, politica y ciudadanía. Through the academic activities at the aforementioned university - more specifically, in this study group - and the visit to social movements, museums, memorials, archives, libraries, universities, etc. materials will be collected and then analyzed in order to deepen our knowledge about the Chilean popular education during the period of democratic transition. Fundamentally, the internship to be carried out also seeks to materialize the main part of the field work methodologically foreseen for the production of the thesis, that is, the carrying out of interviews with militants and former militants of movements that acted from the popular education with an emancipatory sense in the metropolitan region of Santiago during the 1990s, shortly after the official end of the Pinochet dictatorship, about the processes of rememoration and spoliation of memories experienced by these individuals and organizations. Through the analyzes made on the materials worked during the internship, these will later be part of the comparative study with the reality of the metropolis of São Paulo in that same period. (AU)
