Abstract In a possible fire occurrence, a building's structure or parts of it can be led to ruin, if the action of fire has not been foreseen in its conception. In Brazil there are already some standards that deal with safety requirements in relation to fire. It is possible to highlight the NBR 14432:2001, which deals specifically with the fire resistance required times of a building - TRRF, defined in order to minimize, as a priority, human losses and, also, reduce financial losses in an eventual accident. It is also possible to highlight NBR 15200:2012, which deals with the design of concrete structures in fire situation, NBR 14323:2013, which deals with the design of steel and composite structures (steel and concrete) in fire situation and NBR 7190-1: 2022 with annex dealing with wooden structures in fire situation; however, there is no standardization for structural masonry subjected to high temperatures. In Brazil, the study of structural masonry behavior in fire situation is recent. Perhaps due to the almost non-existence of national laboratories equipped to evaluate large elements under high temperatures, the few national studies published so far have focused on the behavior of some masonry components (blocks and laying mortar) under high temperatures and of few walls evaluated in the only two national laboratories equipped for this purpose. In these walls, detachment of the coating mortar from the hot face was identified and, so far, no national study has been conducted to seek the understanding for the problem. In this work, it is intended to evaluate the adhesion behavior of different coating mortars on different concrete substrates in a fire situation, through experimental and numerical tests, being then possible to feed the guidelines of the part of NBR 16868:2020 that will deal with structural masonry in fire situation.
