Abstract

Electricity generating through micro wind turbines in urban areas is of great importancenowadays, given the growing concern for sustainability and the search for renewable energysources. The objective of this project is to create a model to calculate the amount of energyproduced by micro wind turbines in urban areas, using machine learning techniques such asdecision trees, neural networks, and regression models. The data required to train the modelwill be obtained through simulations performed with the System Advisor Model (SAM)application. For the anemometric and climatological measurements of the studied region andthe technical specifications of the micro wind turbine, data available in the SAM applicationlibrary will be used. The proposed theme contributes to the optimization of electricitygeneration from renewable sources, especially in urban areas where the available space forinstalling energy generation systems is limited.
