Abstract

This project describes the research to be carried out at the Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME-USP) by the researcher Walner Mendonça (PhD in Mathematics from IMPA) and his supervisor Guilherme O. Mota, in the period from 09/01/2023 to 08/31/2025.Part of this project is dedicated to the study of monochromatic tilings and covers problems in complete graphs and in random graphs. We will address the classical problems in the area, which have been open for about 30 years, and that focus mostly on complete graphs. But we will also address the most recent problems, which follow the current trend of several other lines of research in Extremal Combinatorics and Probabilistics, which is transferring the classical problems to random graphs and dense graphs.We will also investigate, throughout this project, the anti-Ramsey property in random graphs, giving continuity to some of the works initiated by the researchers of this project.
