Abstract Introduction: The dimension of spirituality and religiosity are important elements in the health-disease process and in the coping strategies of the sick person and his family. Spirituality is the way we assign meanings to life, activities and everyday situations; Religiosity is constituted by values and practices shared by a group of people, in the form of an established religion. Objective: To investigate the perceptions of undergraduate students of Occupational Therapy at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo, about the dimension of spirituality and religiosity, as well as its uses, perspectives and values, in the professional training of occupational therapists. Method: In the 1st phase of the study (quantitative), a Closed web-survey will be conducted, in which students will be invited to participate by e-mail to answer an instrument structured in the electronic data capture tool REDCap. In addition to collecting sociodemographic information, the Duke Religiosity Scale (DUREL), validated for the Portuguese of Brazil, will be applied. In the 2nd stage (qualitative phase), interviews will be conducted based on the Spiritual History Tool (FICA), with 10 randomly selected students. Participants will be occupational therapy students invited by collective emails from their respective undergraduate classes. Statistical analysis should use SAS version 9.4. and qualitative by Thematic Analysis. Primary outcome: To identify the impact of the inclusion of the themes of spirituality and religiosity in the academic formation of Occupational Therapy students and in the therapeutic practice of future professionals.
