Abstract

The main purpose of this project is to obtain relations between anomalies on manifolds with boundaries and anomalies in effective boundary theories with the use of heat kernel methods. The applications include the Jackiw--Rebbi fermion number fractionization, topological phases of quantum matter, and boundary anomalies in holographic theories. (AU)
