Abstract

The universe related to the study of lighting and its influence on human beings has been subject to several changes over the years. Unlike what was thought in the past, light - natural or artificial, has profound consequences on the internal cycles carried out by the human body. Among them is the so-called circadian cycle, directly related to the production of hormones, being responsible for regulating various mechanisms in the body, in addition to influencing the well-being and productivity of individuals. Therefore, the importance of carrying out an analysis of the light used in production environments, especially in classrooms, where focus and attention are essential. In this way, the research seeks to carry out a case study using the concepts of integrative lighting and visual comfort, on classrooms of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT) - Unesp, in order to verify if their natural and artificial lighting are adequate to the correct maintenance of the circadian cycle.
