Abstract

The present project aims to investigate the unconscious category within the framework of historical-cultural psychology. To this end, it formulates the following research problem: do studies on the unconscious category produced in the last decade converge with the theoretical-philosophical and methodological assumptions that underlie historical-cultural psychology? The scientific methodology of the research will be the bibliographic review in electronic databases, such as SciELO, Google Scholar and Capes Periódicos, with the aim of investigating what has been produced in the last decade (2013-2022) in articles, theses and dissertations regarding the unconscious within the psychology developed by the Vygotsky School. The data will be analyzed through analytical reading and interpretative reading, in order to bring together the main ideas about the categorization of the unconscious in each article and thesis that is in accordance with the theme. In summary, it is intended, through critical theoretical analysis of the unconscious category within Historical-Cultural Psychology, to contribute to highlighting the importance of this psychological concept that integrates the entirety of the human psyche, in clinical praxis and its possible relationships with psychological illness.
