Abstract

Prostate devolpment is a complex phenomenon incuding prostate induction from the urogenital sinus, the growth of the prostate buds, the ductal canalization and branching. Along with these processes, there is an increasing complexity of the cell types found in both the epithelial layer and in the stroma of the organ. In this work we will employ the powerful technique scRNAseq to characterize this increasing complexity and test the effect of interference with the expression of selected genes, in particular the WFDC1 gene that codes the ps20 protein.
