Abstract

Perovskite solar cells have been in evidence among the emergent photovoltaic technologies due to their high efficiency, low-cost production, and easy processability. Despite the stunning increase in efficiency from 6% to 26% in 10 years, the long-term stability remains challenging. Once the stability is affected by several extrinsic and intrinsic factors, developing a suitable method for encapsulating is a relevant topic for the perovskite solar cells study. Here, an encapsulation process will be developed for the double cation perovskite with the Cs0.17FA0.83Pb(I0.83Br0.17)3 formulation, applied to both conventional (n-i-p) and inverted (p-i-n) architectures. The ageing effects on the devices will be monitored by electrical characterization, which will reveal information about the different layers and interfaces. The encapsulation will also be assessed based on the stability protocols under inert storage and ambient conditions. Therefore, the proposed study will contribute to achieving high-efficiency solar cells with improved lifetime.
