Abstract

Currently, mushroom consumption in Brazil is increasing, as well as the diversification ofspecies found on the market, providing the consumer with an opportunity to try new cooking recipes. Popularly known as lion's mane, monkey head, or even pom-pom mushroom, Hericium erinaceus has been awakening interest of the Brazilian population after the COVID 19 pandemic due to its properties medicinal. The cultivation stages adopted in the production of H. erinaceus are similar to those used for Lentinula edodes, however there is a great lack of knowledge in relation to the ideal method for inducing primordia, at a commercial level. In this sense, the objective of this work is to evaluate the scratching technique, the period of exposure to light and handling in plastic bags, to induce primordia. will be two sequential experiments were carried out, which will evaluate precocity, time tothe 1st flow, the productivity (1st, 2nd, 3rd flow and total), the biological efficiency, the number and mass of harvested mushrooms. The results obtained will be subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and subsequently compared to the Tukey test at 5% probability.
