Abstract This research seeks to undertake a comparative analysis between the ways in which state policies in Brazil and Canada are operationalized to regulate the growing religious and non-religious diversity present in both countries. In order to do so, we adopted an unusual path, which involves investigating how the school subject of Religious Education is formatted and offered in public schools in Paraná and Quebec. The choice to focus on this state and this province is due to the fact that both stand out, in their respective national scenarios, for the approach used in their Religious Education curricula when what is at stake are the dilemmas arising from the institutional adoption of the agendas of pluralism and multiculturalism. | |
