Abstract Recent developments in the field of Large Language Models (LLM) resulted in a revolution for many industries, prompting Artificial Intelligence systems to become more widespread by the day. For software developers, newly developed AI powered tools provide assistance for coding in the form of an auto-complete feature (e.g., IntelliCode) or automatic code generation (e.g., ChatGPT). Since such features are quite novel, there is still much research interest on how one can leverage their benefits. This research proposal aims to assess the capability of state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence tools for secure software development in Industry 4.0. The scope of the research is expected to include not only the traditional software development, but also explore specific domains of interest - e.g., Smart Contracts, which are commonly used when automating tasks in distributed environments. The foreseen results should, thus, help empowering future developers of the Industry 4.0 domain to harness the benefits of such AI tools. | |
