Abstract Many chemical products are part of the most varied industrial sectors, such as food, automobiles, perfumery, footwear, textiles, among others. Between them are the dyes. Typically, the use of dyes involves large quantities of water that are often adequately treated and reused. The problem is leaks that lead to contamination of groundwater, artesian wells, lakes, rivers, oceans, etc. This can lead to problems with drinking water, the life of aquatic animals, deregulation of biological cycles, poisoning in humans and, in more serious cases, carcinogenic changes. Therefore, wastewater treatment is animportant precautionary tool. The search for materials that have high resistance in aqueous environments and dye adsorption capacity becomes essential. A compound that meets these needs is ZIF (Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworoks), which is a coordination network derived from MOF (Metal-Organic Frameworks). Its formation is from metallic ions connected by organic imidazole ligands. Thus, this project aims to developcompounds with metallic ions Fe+2, Co+2, Ni2+, Cu+2, Cu+1 and Zn+2 using imidazole, 2-methyl-imidazole, or 2-ethyl-5-methyl-imidazole as ligands. The syntheses will also becarried out in aqueous media or in methanol aiming at environmentally friendly methodologies and applied to absorb the dyes methyl orange, nile blue, methylene blue, malachite green and indigo blue. The context is part of the formation of scientific initiation in the fields of inorganic and transition metal chemistry, instrumental analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and environmental chemistry. | |
