Abstract

In view of the current post-pandemic scenario, much has been discussedabout the impacts caused on school education, especially for children. Added to this, the learning difficulties presented by a significant number of students and theinfluence of the stress level, generating negative consequences on the learning anddevelopment of children. On the other hand, studies involving biofeedback andbreathing techniques show the beneficial effect on vagal modulation and cognitiveaspects. This project aims to assess the impact of controlled ventilation on executivefunctions and stress levels in school-aged children, aged between 11 and 15 years. Also, a platform will be developed that will facilitate the collection of results obtainedin cognitive tests and the analysis of this data. Components related to executivefunctions will be evaluated before and after the use of controlled ventilation.Concomitantly, saliva will be collected for cortisol analysis and heart rate variability(HRV) will be evaluated to detect the influence that therapy may have on the level ofstress presented by children. Thus, the analysis and evaluation of the results of thisresearch may be useful for education managers and professionals, implementingtools for stress management and that contribute to the improvement of children'sschool performance.
