Abstract

This PHD project project aims at studying systems presenting collective behavior and will be structured in two parts. The first part consists of addressing thermodynamics and performance of collective systems composed of interacting Brownian particles subject to nonlinear forces and master equation systems subjected to finite reservoirs. In the latter case, we intend to study the statistics of power, efficiency and dissipation and is related to project 2022/15453-0, entitled"Correlated quantum materials", coordinated by Eduardo Miranda (UNICAMP) in which the advisor is the main researcher. The second part of this project focuses on thermodynamics and the performance of different models for active matter under two approaches: the first continuous, described by a Fokker-Planck equation and the second, systems with discrete symmetry. In the latter case, we intend to propose an "active" version for thesystem composed of interacting thermal machines investigated in the candidate's master's project. (AU)
