Abstract

In this work, inserted between the theoretical-methodological field of DiscourseAnalysis (Pêcheux, 2010; Orlandi, 2007; Mariani, 2016) with the History of Linguistic Ideas(Auroux, 2001; Orlandi, 2001; Scherer, 2005; Ferreira, 2009 ; Dias, 2012), we propose toanalyze the meaning effects of the definition of the linguistic profession in the 4 Bachelor'sdegrees in Linguistics in force in Brazil, namely: Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics fromUFSCar, Unicamp, USP and UFG. To this end, the research will be based on the analysis ofthe courses' pedagogical projects, aiming to create a research archive considering the analyzescarried out - during the first year of scientific initiation - at the São Paulo institutionsUnicamp and UFSCar. Now, with the inclusion of two more institutions, the objective is tounderstand how the official training documents of these graduates project meanings onto theprofessional linguist in training to work with language. The concepts of discourse, productionconditions, definition and archive will be fundamental for the development of the analyses, aswell as the consideration of elements about the job market for linguists today. Themethodology adopted is Discourse Analysis, using its theoretical device and building ananalytical device that combines description and interpretation procedures of the analysiscorpus. This study is part of an interinstitutional research project and seeks to contribute tothe production of an encyclopedia on language professionals in society and history.
