Abstract

Innovation has been the keyword. Considered the driving force of economic development (Schumpeter, 1984) and the driving force behind the new globalized economy, in this sense, Mario Valle (2009) states that innovation goes beyond its technological aspect, but also contributes to social, economic, environmental, and other innovations. The university, as a generator of knowledge, plays an important role in the production and dissemination of innovation. Etzkowitz and Zhou (2017) analyze the innovation agents formed by the interaction between the university, industry, and government, highlighting the role of interaction among these agents. Later, society and the environment were added as important elements in the production of innovation. In Brazil, the role of universities in the interaction between government and industry has been expanding in recent years, especially with the creation of the Innovation Law in 2004, which proposed the mandatory establishment of Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) in all Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (ICTs). Additionally, there has been an incentive to create technology parks. This project aims to understand the role of the university in the production and dissemination of innovation through the technological park, the Supera Innovation and Technology Park, in Ribeirão Preto - SP.
