Abstract

Introduction: Bipolar disorder (BD) is a specific and complex disorder characterized by mood changes: manic, hypomanic and depressive episodes. The population with TB has a mortality rate two to three times higher than the general population. Meta-analysis studies have shown that the chances of death from cardiovascular diseases increase in patients with TB. However, the studies did not address the sub-causes of death from cardiovascular disease and what their contributions to mortality in TB patients would be. Objective: The present work aims to systematize the different sub-causes of mortality from cardiovascular diseases in TB. Methods: This systematic review will be formulated based on the 24 steps presented in the step guide on the development of a systematic review and meta-analysis in medical research (MUKA, et al. 2019). Expected results: It is expected to highlight differences between mortality from cardiovascular diseases in TB considering the different subtypes.
