Abstract

To estimate chlorophyll a (Chla) concentrations and Secchi disk depth (DS) using algorithms in S2 images, it is convenient to confirm these observations through field data, which will be developed in this project. Samples will be collected in at least three zones from each of the six reservoirs studied in the Cantareira System (SC). Of which chlorophyll concentrations, DS depth and the relationship between DS and light penetration will be analyzed, evaluated in light profiles with the quantameter. With the images downloaded with dates close to the field collection dates, it will be possible to test and validate algorithms that allow estimating Chla and DS, expressed in thematic maps, based on the IET and Brazilian regulations, Conama Resolution 357 of 2005. It is expected prove the robustness of the algorithms and the suitability of S2 images in assessing the quality of raw inland waters, which could be extended for use in all water bodies in São Paulo.
