Abstract

Even though there are control initiatives and validation of compliance with such ethical guidelines for attributing authorship, such as author contribution forms, the qualitative contribution and theoretical-methodological influence of each author are still disregarded in evaluations of researchers' scientific performance. , institutions and countries. This arises from the lack of an objective tool that measures the relative contribution of authors to the development of co-authored research, based on an objective and easily replicated indicator. With this in mind, this research aims to build a tool to automate the processes of identifying the citation identity of co-authors of an article and the intensity of their Author Bibliographic Coupling (ABA) with the article under analysis, in order to measure the qualitative contribution of each author listed, through their theoretical-methodological influence. The tool will be programmed to process input data in CSV format representing sets of specific references: a file of references cited by author A; a file of references cited by author B; and a file of references cited in the article which aims to verify the theoretical-methodological influence of each author. The combination The combination performed by the system will be: A+C and B+C, resulting in the ABA index of each of the authors with the article to be analyzed. It is assumed that, although an author has not been involved in all stages of research development, as highlighted in the author contribution form, their conceptual and qualitative influence can be represented by their citation identity expressed in the article. This project aims to contribute to identifying and clarifying the role and contribution of each listed author, highlighting ethics and transparency in the publication of research results.
