Abstract

The senses given to the writing are amply discussed by the sociological approach that understands the social space based on their different holds and struggles on the more or less legitimate representation of the social spaces. On behalf of the "intellectual investments" of the law agents, I seek to comprehend in which way this practice appears in the trajectories and how it is mobilized. For this purpose, I focus on a specific law social domain, the state-level Public Prosecutor's Office, and especially their agents (the public prosecutors). As long as "dilettante practices" the institutional and social transformations, I intend to discuss the writing's symbolic weight and its strategic uses within the group and seek to understand which is the writing space in this State law career. It is important to notice that the "intellectual investment" gave to the "writer-prosecutors" the symbolic authority not only to "say the law", but also to elaborate the legitimate interpretation of the social world that imposes specific world points of view. Between the ones that devote their selves to the "profession of public prosecutor" and the ones that share their office routine with the "intellectual activity" I propose to investigate the competition around the legitime practice in a diminishing homogenized group. In this way, if the cultural domain in Brazil in the mid-XX century was characterized by the transformations in the intellectual fraction morphology that turned out to be in the State positions, the recent history shows diversity in the "intellectual investments" even wider, and the law State institutions seems to shelter an exemplary series of these "jurist-writers" exemplary cases.
