Abstract

This undergraduate research proposal encompasses preliminary studies aiming to gaining insights into the mesostructured MgO system during the CO2 capture stage. In addition to the adsorption capacity of the pure oxide, the influence of promoters composed of fused alkali metal salts on the surface should be verified. With the development of this work, it is expected to obtain data that will assist in understanding the adsorption mechanisms on these materials, since they will be a fundamental part in the development of catalytic adsorbents for integrated capture and conversion systems with an emphasis on the purification and utilization of the CO2 component present in the combustion gas of the project associated with this scholarship.
