Abstract

Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological condition that can result in impaired communication and social interaction, as well as restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests or activities. It is generally identified during childhood, when developmental changes begin to manifest themselves in different ways. The impact of ASD is felt not only by children, but also by their families, especially mothers - who are still the main parental caregivers. Objective: to understand the perceptions of mothers regarding the care of children and adolescents with ASD. Methodology: Research with a qualitative approach, with participants being mothers of children and adolescents with ASD. Data collection will take place using the snowball technique, through semi-structured interviews and the creation of maps of the personal social network. Data analysis will be through reflective thematic analysis, anchored in the concept of network and social support.
