Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Tuberculosis (TB) is a persistent, infectious and transmissible disease that has affected humanity for centuries, and is still considered a global public health challenge. Infection control and biosafety for TB requires the adoption of measures that are capable of controlling the risk of infection that the etiological agent poses to health and the environment. OBJECTIVES: To develop, evaluate and apply an instrument on infection control and biosafety for tuberculosis with health science students. METHODS: This is a combined study, which includes the development of a questionnaire to characterize knowledge of TB, followed by discussion in a research group and evaluation by expert judges to improve it and application following a survey-type study scheme, where the population will be made up of health science students. EXPECTED RESULTS: To promote discussion about the need to adopt infection control and biosafety measures to prevent not only the spread of TB in the internship and work environment among future health professionals. In addition to strengthening and stimulating the goals set by the END-TB strategy through the insertion and training of future health science professionals.
