Abstract

Beach Tennis (BT) is a sports discipline played on sand courts, which sharessimilarities with Tennis, Beach Volleyball, and Badminton. It was created in Italy in the 1980sand after its introduction in Brazil, the number of practitioners grew rapidly, contributing tomaking Brazil a global reference in this sport. Despite its national and worldwide relevance,as evidenced by the high number of practitioners, information regarding injuries in BT is stillscarce in the literature. The surveillance of injuries through epidemiological studies isimportant to support future research focused on investigating risk factors and developingpreventive measures. The study has a cross-sectional observational design and will investigatethe injury profile in BT practitioners through in-person interviews at establishments offeringthe sport in the municipality of Ribeirao Preto - SP. After data collection, descriptive analyzeswill be conducted, and comparisons will be made with results from other studies on injuriesin BT and similar sports.
