Abstract

Anuran communication through vocalization is a consolidated phenomenon, as well as the target for many research efforts. Following careful studies, many different protocols have been developed to analyze vocalization from a bioacoustics or behavioral perspective, allowing for examination and comparing of characteristics such as frequency and temporal patterns and observable behavior among different species. When considering the neurophysiological processes associated with vocalization, however, current available studies show a variety of non patternized methods, species and objectives. This study aims to develop an efficient, patternized protocol for neurophysiological studies in anuran vocalization through extensive systematic revision of available data.
