Abstract

Mitochondria are cellular organelles with extreme stability in their physicochemical properties compared to other biological components. Therefore, its use as molecular recognition in the development of chemical sensors is of great interest. The sensorial platform will be developed through the electropolymerization of Bismarck Brown Y (BBY) with gold nanoparticles (AuNP) on a conductive substrate. The mitochondria to be used for sensing will be extracted from potatoes (solanum tuberosum) and supported in the device by adsorption for detection and quantification of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH). The application of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance techniques will allow evaluating the interfacial phenomena of the poly(azo-BBY)-AuNP/mitochondria. The sensor response mechanism will be based on the charge transfer resistance between the platform of poly(azo-BBY)-AuNP/mitochondria and NADH present in electrolyte solution, by electrochemical impedance measurements.
