Abstract

The project proposes an innovative strategy for preventing alcohol consumption, among children, through a multicomponent community-based approach. The proposed intervention focuses on implementing prevention programs aimed at children, in order to develop social and communication skills, reduce disruptive behaviors, and promote a healthy family environment. The project involves the application of internationally recognized programs, such as the Elos 2.0 Program, an adaptation of the Good Behavior Game, which has shown positive results in Brazil; and the adaptation of the Strengthening Families Program 6-11 (SFP 6-11) for the Brazilian context. The main objective is to evaluate the implementation of school-based (Elos 2.0) and family-based (SFP 6-11) prevention programs targeting childhood risk factors related to alcohol and other drug consumption using a hybrid trial. In this trial, both the implementation and effectiveness of the programs will be analyzed regarding familial, behavioral, and emotional aspects of children. The study will utilize the RE-AIM framework to assess the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the interventions. The project aims to increase the effectiveness of alcohol consumption prevention among teenagers by incorporating preventive programs in childhood, providing practical recommendations for local and national policies, and proposing sustainable models for the dissemination and expansion of alcohol prevention interventions.
