Abstract

The project "Scientific journalism practices for the public communication of science - a dialogue based on the processes and results of the 'Innovation in Human and Non-Human Communities' project" will invest in converting scientific concepts into popular language, expanding the reach of academic knowledge through the practice of public communication of science and its dissemination (Bueno, 2010; Castelfranchi et al., 2013; Castelfranchi & Fazio, 2021) and meeting the demands of those who are immersed in a complex society and who are often the target of distortions and misinformation (Cesarino, 2022; Perini-Santos, 2022). Thus, based on the fundamentals of science journalism (Filho, 2006; Dieb & Peschanski, 2017) and guided by a critical epistemology to produce easy-to-understand content (Morin, 2012; Cunha, 2017), the project aims to work on communication techniques and elucidation of topics that are difficult to access, exploring digital platforms and media and expanding the academic information flow and the community's scientific lexicon.
