Abstract

The current research proposal is separated into three chapters, starting with the synthesis of tetrahydroisoquinolines (THIQ). The THIQ are alkaloids that exhibit several pharmacological activities and are widely used as a basis for the formation of more complex structures, so new series of compounds have been planned that have the grouping of THIQ in their structure as potential agents against leishmaniasis and eventually against T. cruzi. Following this, the proposal calls for the synthesis of new hybrids of guanidines and acridines, the search for a potentiation of the antileishmania activity by incorporating in the same molecule groups that are found in active compounds. The third chapter proposes the synthesis of enantiomeric guanidines to study the influence of chirality on the activity against leishmaniasis. The physicochemical analyses will be performed for all synthesized jams using HRESI-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS techniques with UV-Vis detection, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy of 1H and 13C and two-dimensional, the chiral compounds will be separated by preparative HPLC using chiral columns.
