Abstract The use of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) represents, in contemporary times, the main ecological strategy for agricultural production. This model has gained prominence for being able to promote more sustainable and resilient agriculture, bringing environmental and socioeconomic benefits. In the state of São Paulo, this model was introduced in several agrarian reform settlements through the Sustainable Rural Development Project (PDRS), a public policy implemented between 2010 and 2018 with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of family farming together. with environmental sustainability. Although academic research indicates several effects of SAFs, there is a scientific gap in understanding the impacts caused specifically by SAFs implemented by the PDRS, especially in relation to gender and generational equity. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the influence of public policy in the Ipanema Settlement, in Iperó/SP, analyzing it with a focus on two themes: women and young people. This is expected to contribute to the theoretical debate on the benefits and challenges of using the SAF for women and young people in agrarian reform territories. | |
