Abstract

This project aims to date and characterize the chemical and mineralogical composition of 120 samples of the ceramic artifacts of two pre-colonial archaeological sites: Santa Paula and Teotônio, located in the Teotônio Waterfall, southwest of the Amazon. The approach will be through four analytical methods: activation analysis with instrumental neutrons (INAA), X-ray (XRD), thermoluminescence (TL), optically stimulated luminescence (LOE) and petrographic analysis. The results will be interpreted through advanced statistical methods: multivariate analysis, procrust analysis and neural networks (self-organizable maps, self-organizing maps, sound).
