Abstract

Coffee growing is of great importance to the Brazilian economy, and Minas Gerais is the state with the largest production. With climate change and low-carbon agriculture trends, it is essential to develop strategies to reduce the impacts that the agricultural sector can produce. One of the ways to work on this aspect is by increasing C in the soil, which can only be done according to the understanding of the behavior of the carbon stock (EC) in the soil and its quantification over time, which is still explored in literature. Therefore, this project seeks the application of near and remote sensors in modeling the EC in a coffee growing area in the Cerrado, seeking a faster and less expensive method to obtain this data in order to understand the behavior of the EC and its maintenance in the soil.
