Abstract

Interest groups are key players in understanding how contemporary democracies function. However, systematic studies on the actions of these actors in countries of the Global South are still incipient (ROZBICKA; MAHRENBACH, 2022). Thus, based on the results obtained in previous work (ROZBICKA; MANCUSO; SANTOS, 2024) and in dialogue with the Comparative Interest Group-survey Project (BEYERS et al, 2020), this project proposes to apply a survey to Brazilian interest groups with a national scope in order to understand their internal dynamics and the strategies adopted to defend their respective interests. In addition to deepening existing knowledge about these groups, the results of this work will contribute to the inclusion of Brazil in an international comparative debate on interest representation systems.
