Abstract

In this PhD project we propose to carry out a systematic study of reductive amination reactions via electrochemistry. Various reaction aspects will be evaluated with a focus on the selection of the best electrodes and the best activation surface techniques for these electrodes, in addition to different solvents, supporting electrolytes, pH and temperatures. The use of photoelectrocatalysis to activate electrodes with visible light should also be tested. The methodological studies will involve batch conditions with subsequent transposition to continuous flow conditions. In a final step, we intend to apply this methodology in the synthesis of some active pharmaceutical ingredients (IFAs), namely: tetracaine, haloperidol, and buspirone
