Abstract

This project addresses issues arising in the context of industrial production and logistics planning, involving, respectively, the Lot Sizing Problem (LSP) and the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). We intend to continue ongoing joint research related to the LSP, its extensions, and integrations with other problems. Additionally, we will initiate collaboration regarding the VRP, focusing on logistics issues applied to the agricultural sector. To achieve the project's objectives, it is necessary to expand studies covering various aspects of production planning and logistic decision-making, seeking new integer optimization models and methods applied to various industrial and agricultural sectors, which will be investigated to assess the practical effectiveness of the proposed models and methods. We note that the proposed activities are directly related to the activities of the Thematic Project (Process 2022/05803-3) in which we serve as the principal researcher, specifically addressing cutting issues (A), lot sizing (C), routing (E), and problem integration (G). Therefore, the development of the current project and the consequent absence of the applicant will not be detrimental to the thematic project, since the studies to be carried out will contribute directly to the advancement of several topics therein.
