Abstract

Migraine is a disease characterized by severe headache attacks, as well as other symptoms that have a direct impact on quality of life, such as changes in sleep, mood, mobility, diet and psychosocial changes such as anxiety and depression. To assess quality of life, there are generic questionnaires such as the SF-12 and SF-36, but there is a specific questionnaire for people who suffer from migraine, the Migraine-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire version 2.1 (MSQ 2.1), which already has a version available in Brazilian Portuguese, whose psychometric properties have not yet been assessed. Therefore, the goal of this study is to evaluate the construct validity and reliability of the Brazilian version of this questionnaire in patients with migraine. This study will include 60 individuals aged between 18 and 65 diagnosed with migraine, who will answer the MSQ 2.1 and the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-12), Headache Impact Test (HIT-6), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). Reliability will be assessed by test-retest of the scores obtained from the MSQ 2.1 in two evaluations carried out 3 weeks apart, respecting the guidelines for internal consistency and standard error of measurement. Construct validity will be assessed by hypothesis testing, using Pearson's correlation between the scores on the MSQ 2.1, HIT-6, SF-12, GAD-7 and PHQ-9 questionnaires.
