Abstract

This Scientific Initiation project is part of the studies dedicated to understanding the rise of right-wing and far-right movements in Brazil, focusing on the digital platform Brasil Paralelo, which currently operates as a multimedia content producer aimed at disseminating conservative and ultraliberal ideas. Grounded in Bourdieu's Sociology of Culture, the research project is directed toward reconstructing the social trajectories of 13 agents who participated in the documentary "Pátria Educadora" (2020). which proposes a historical reconstruction of education based on conservative worldviews regarding culture and intellectuality. Using prosopography as a method, the project seeks to capture the economic, cultural, and social capitals acquired and inherited, as well as understand how agents linked to the new Brazilian right use certain social properties and strategies to legitimize anti-intellectual, revisionist, and conspiratorial discourses.Therefore, the central goal of this proposal is to correlate reconstructed social trajectories with performances and modes of political engagement, aiming to contribute to the understanding of the rise of the right and the transformations occurring in spaces of opinion production and social analysis.
