Abstract

The well-established application of APbX3 (wherein A = Cs or CH3NH3 and X = I, Cl or Br) into photovoltaic solar cells deal with a poor long-term stability due to the material hydrophilic nature and high ionic conductivity facilitating the interface degradation. Building 2D/3D multidimensional heterostructured system contributes to overcome the challenges in the photo-absorber layer by reducing the defect density and residual stress for charge carrier transfer. The unsatisfactory stability of the widely employed Ruddlesden-Popper 2D perovskites, due to weak van der Waals interactions in the spacer layer, places rigid structures as 2D Dion-Jacobson (DJ) family in evidence for this strategy. In light of this, this work intends to synthesize and investigate the physical properties of coupling organic/inorganic hybrid perovskites (3D) with two-dimensional (2D) structures, in order to improve environmental stability and charge carrier transport dynamics. The project plan will systematically investigate the development 2D-DJ perovskites and the fabrication process for 2D/3D heterointerface evaluating charge carrier dynamics, optoelectronic properties, and their impact on the photovoltaic performance.
