Abstract The present work plan encompasses research, teaching, and extension activities to be carried out within the Post-Doctoral program of the Department of Music at the College of Philosophy, Sciences, and Modern Languages of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP-USP). The intended research project aims to study and analyze deeply the concept of poiesis in 17th-century music based on four paradigmatic treatises from different nations within the chronological framework: in Italy, Le Nuove Musiche (1601) by Giulio Caccini (1551-1618); in Germany, Musica Poetica (1606) by Joachim Burmeister (1564-1629); in France, Harmonie Universelle (1636) by Marin Mersenne (1588-1648); and in England, Musick's Monument (1676) by Thomas Mace (1612/13-1706). Through this study, the aim is to refute the logic of progress and historical non-linearity based on the theories of Reinhart Koselleck and Michel Foucault. | |
