Abstract

This research proposal aims to contribute to historiographical advancement in the field of Family Social History. To do this, we will examine the ways in which the movements/displacements that occurred in the equatorial Atlantic influenced family ties, marital and kinship relations of Mazaganense and Azorean families in the state of Grão-Pará between the years 1755 and 1821. We rely on a set of documentary composed, among others, of: official correspondence (letters, letters, requests), justification documents, population maps, traveler reports and legislation that will be collected in national collections and archives (Public Archive of the State of Pará) and international (Arquivo Overseas History and National Archive of Torre do Tombo - Portugal). In view of this, we will also employ a dense theoretical foundation based on the concepts of circulation, by Kapil Raj and Connected histories, by Sanjay Subrahmanyam. We will use methodologies, such as: document crossing, which will give us the necessary support to analyze and respond to the concerns raised in this project.
