Abstract

The Brazilian Psychiatric Reform in Brazil brought significant changes on people's care by transforming the asylum model and promoting the rights of people with mental health problems. This process resulted in the creation of community services, such as Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), which replaced psychiatric hospitals in the pursuit of promoting care through the full exercise of citizenship and autonomy. In the context of psychosocial rehabilitation, the family plays a crucial role, and it is important that their active roles be strengthened in this process. Based on this, the present study aims to understand the point of view of family members of people with mental health problems who use CAPS III regarding the experience of self-care and the quality of care provided by CAPS to family members, characterizing the profile of these family members and learning about their experiences - both in relation to self-care and their point of view on the quality of care offered by the mental health service. Data collection will be carried out through a semi-structured interview script and from the "QualityRights" toolkit, covering the theme of the right to physical and mental health. Up to five family members of users of CAPS III in Brasilândia will be interviewed. The interviews, which will be conducted after the signature of the Free and Informed Consent Form, will be recorded, transcribed and the analysis will include the assignment of concepts to the quality criteria adopted in the toolkit, in addition to thematic analysis regarding the results of the semi-structured interview. The discussion of the set of results will be based on the theoretical framework of psychosocial rehabilitation as citizenship, by Benedetto Saraceno.
