Abstract Experiments involving Rydberg atoms strongly depend on lasers in the 480-510 nm range of the visible spectrum. This is generally achieved through frequency doubling in nonlinear crystals within optical cavities, using low-power amplified diode lasers. However, stabilizing these cavities can be complex, depending on various parameters. Currently, there are bulk doubling crystals that allow for very efficient conversion in a single pass, eliminating the need for cavities. Thus, the objective of this project is to set up a diode laser amplifier at 960 nm, which will produce at least 1.5W of power at 960 nm. This beam will then be focused into a bulk crystal, which will generate the second harmonic at 480 nm. An efficiency of 12% is expected in a single pass. | |
