Analysis of sleep profile and its disorders in pregnant women with preeclampsia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract

Introduction: Preeclampsia, a hypertensive syndrome of pregnancy, is a systemic disease associated with maternal risks and premature resolution of pregnancy. Its risk factors are diverse, with many still not fully elucidated. The hormonal changes that occur during this period have significant effects on sleep, raising the question of whether sleep disorders might be related to the preeclampsia condition. Objectives: In this context, we aim to systematically analyze, through a meta-analysis, the sleep profile of women diagnosed with preeclampsia. Methodology: We will gather publications available in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Information (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE, via PubMed), and Embase (via Elsevier), using the descriptors "preeclampsia" and "sleep"," in addition to additional research in the references of selected articles. The inclusion criteria for the studies will be observational exposure studies conducted on the subject. Two reviewers will screen the titles and abstracts of the articles to assess whether they meet the eligibility criteria, and any disagreements will be resolved by discussion until consensus is reached. The studies will be analyzed following the Cochrane Risk of Bias Table (ROBINS-I).
