Abstract

This research project aims to diagnose the meaning repertoires associated with feminisms in Brazil, within a context of cultural hegemony marked by phenomena such as post-feminism, neoliberal feminism, and popular feminism. The objective is to reflect on the possibilities of forming feminist and antifeminist counterpublics in the present era. In alignment with the objectives of the thematic project "Crises of Democracy - Critical Theory and Diagnosis of the Present Time," this study aims to identify and qualitatively analyze these repertoires through an integrated analysis of data on the production, public presentation, and circulation of the most sold and released feminist and antifeminist books in Brazil between 2018 and 2024. The study thus seeks to make a contribution to the expansion of research on emerging political subjectivities in light of these phenomena, as well as to the current debates and applications of the concept of "counterpublic" in feminist and public sphere studies in Brazil.
