Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the behavior of clinical dentists performing restorative treatments from different courses at the Fundação de Odontologia da Universidade de São Paulo (FUNDECTO) concerning their decision-making for the treatment of indirect restorations with localized failures. The cross-sectional analytical observational study will consist of questionnaires administered to practicing dentists. Professionals who are engaged in restorative clinical treatment and active in one of the courses will be approached by a single researcher, randomly, for interviews and to complete the survey, which is divided into two parts: 1. Collection of personal data (interview); 2. Presentation of printed photographs of three clinical cases with indirect restorations showing localized failures, including multiple-choice questions related to the proposed treatment (repair or replacement of the restoration). Data collection will occur over 6 months in the patient care clinics at FUNDECTO. The data obtained from the questionnaires will be subjected to descriptive statistical analysis. The test employed will be Pearson's chi-square, which will be used to determine if there is a statistical difference between the obtained data (p<0.05).
